I wasn't sure where to post this so I decided here was best. Anyone else watching the huge game 5 of the NBA Finals on Thursday? Thankfully I'm off, and will hopefully get to see my Miami Heat seal the deal to bring home the trophy.
GO HEAT!

They won the championship, so hat's off to them. Will they win the next 7? Doubtful. But at least they got one, so next year won't be as much about them.

Lebron most definitely deserved that title. He has worked hard and did everything possible to win that title.
The thing is would he have done it without having Wade as his second fiddle and Bosh as his third? How many teams in NBA history can say they had Wade and Bosh as the second and third best players on the team?
The truth is they SHOULD have won and should win more than this one. When they got together I said they'd win at least 3 but didn't like it because of how they did it. What they did has never been done before and never should be done again. They are an all star team that without a doubt should win the title.
Still though Lebron deserved his ring. Hopefully people will leave the guy alone now. I just hate that now we are having people saying he is better than MJ. Are you kidding me?

Andre Dixon... look at the Lakers and Celtics teams of the 70's and 80's. They were filled with all-star players. So this kind of team is not new to the NBA at all.
Why should something like this never happen again? People got all over Lebron because why? Because he took less money to play for a team that actually had a shot at the title? You know at the end of the day every sport is all about one thing... championships. Lebron could have done what so many have done before him, and simply took the biggest contract offered to him. Instead he decided that rings were more important than dollar signs, and I have more respect for him because of that. Even if Lombardi never said this, it still remains true none-the-less: winning isn't everything, it's the ONLY thing.
I am excited about a second ring coming to Miami, and don't look for them to fall off much next season. With Wade, Bosh, James, and a majority of the supporting cast returning next season I can see them making another deep push in the play-offs.

Don't get me wrong I agree about winning being everything. And those teams were completely different because they weren't formed the way the Heat were. Also back then there were less teams and a lot of the talent ended up on the same teams. I loved the fact that Lebron took less money to win. The thing is I would have rather him go to a team like the Bulls or Knicks and win his won titles instead of colluding with Wade and Bosh to join together and win. Either way I don't blame Lebron because he wanted to win and that's what I would have wanted to do as well. He is easily one of the 10 best players in the history of the NBA and is only going to get better. I think this Heat team can easily win the next 2 titles. When they got together I predicted they would win as little as 3 and as many as 6. I stick with that. They are that talented. With that said I'm hoping I'm wrong and my Lakers can get one more ring during the Kobe era.

So you would have had him join Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire in New York, or Derrick Rose and Carlos Boozer in Chicago? Either way Lebron isn't doing it alone. He just chose Wade and Bosh over those other combinations.
It's a good thing he didn't choose the Knicks after all. What a mess that team is turning into. All Lebron would have become is a victim in the joke that is becoming the Knicks. That team is about to see harder times before they sniff better ones.

All Lebron would have become is a victim in the joke that is becoming the Knicks. That team is about to see harder times before they sniff better ones. Actually at the time the only player you mentioned above that was on one of those teams was Rose. Melo got traded to the Knicks after Lebron was already on the Heat. The Knicks would have had room to sign Lebron and one other max contract. Not guaranteed they would have signed Amare. Same goes for Chicago. If Lebron goes to Chicago they have Rose/Lebron plus room for one more max player. They wouldn't have had to sign Boozer. And yeah I'd rather him go to those teams than join Wade who was considered a top 3 player at the time who won his own ring a few years prior. My whole point is the great players in history have never wanted to join forces with the other best players in the world. MJ would have never wanted to join forces with Bird or Magic because they wanted to beat those guys. It's just a different era. Nothing against Lebron who I think will go down as a top 5 if not top 3 player ever.
